One of the most beautiful dramatic titles of ballet literature comes to the stage of the Slovak National Theatre, choreographed by the legendary John Crank and with a beautiful classical stage design. The story of Tatiana, the epitome of virtue and nobility, and Onegin, a reflection of the dysfunctional upper social class, brings a range of feelings—loneliness, the desire to love and be loved, the pain of unrequited love, and the grief of loss—all entwined in beautiful duets and spectacular choral dances. Cranko's choreography flows on the melodies of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's music as smoothly as Pushkin's verses. The musical score was composed by Kurt-Heinz Stolze from various works by the composer.
