Antoine Bouchaud
A pianist and composer originally from Le Havre (France) who began accompanying ballet classes at the Le Havre Conservatoire in 2019. From 2020 to 2024, he was a piano accompanist at the Paris Opera Dance School and also at the prestigious YAGP competition. He began his musical career as a percussionist in major European orchestras. During a five-year musical hiatus, he worked as an advertising copywriter and scriptwriter for French television. In 2015, at the age of 25, he decided to pursue a piano career. He won first prize at the Mayenne National Competition (classical) as a soloist. He went on to win first prize at the Paris International Piano Competition (jazz) and was a finalist in the Ravenscroft International Jazz Piano Competition in Arizona. His jazz trio Black Pantone, for which he plays and composes, won 1st Prize and 2nd Jury Prize at the Golden Jazz European Trophy and a Special Jury Prize at the International Jazz Competition in Bucarest. The trio has recorded two albums and played at major European jazz festivals, such as the Amersfoort World Jazz Festival, Jazz sous les Pommiers, and Jazz à Vienne. Antoine has been involved musically in many multidisciplinary performances. He is the author of the theatre play Cécile et Victoria, which tells the story of the life of the composer Cécile Chaminade. With a passion for live performance, he also regularly performs in productions by puppeteers, storytellers, dancers and more. Since the 2024/2025 season, he has been working as an accompanist for the Slovak National Theatre Ballet.
