Soloist of the National Theatre Opera in Prague Jana Sibera is one of the most sought-after sopranos from the Czech opera and concert scene. She graduated from the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Her signature roles include Violetta (La traviata), title roles in Manon, Cunegonde (Candide), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Gilda (Rigoletto), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Lucia di Lammermoor, Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), Ophelia (Hamlet), Michaela (Carmen), Nedda (The Comedians), Maria (Daughter of the Regiment) , Adina (The Elixir of Love), etc., and in Czech operas such as Bystrouška (The Cunning Little Vixen), Terinka (Jacobin), Blaženka (The Secret) and Mařenka (The Bartered Bride). She is a regular guest of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava and the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen. She has been nominated twice for the prestigious Thalia Award, for the roles of Ophelia (2017) and Violetta (2020), and she already received a third nomination - for her portrayal of Massenet's Manon at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava (2022). As Ophelia, she appeared successfully at the Göteborg Opera in Sweden and her Violetta was equally successful at the Irish National Opera in Dublin.
Jana Sibera is also intensively engaged in concert activities, collaborating with all major orchestras in the Czech Republic and has toured Japan, Korea and China. She participated on Jonas Kaufmann's recording Romantic Arias with PKF - Prague Philharmonia conducted by Marco Armiliato (Decca label).
